The 2nd Toma Research Group Special Seminar by Prof. Hara

We were honored to host a seminar by Professor Masahiko Hara, Professor Emeritus at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (now known as the Institute of Science Tokyo) and Director of JSPS London.

In his talk, Professor Hara shared how he has advanced his career as a researcher, weaving together both chance encounters and inevitable turning points. He also highlighted the importance of preparation—what one must be ready for in order to seize opportunities when they arise.

For our students, this seminar was a valuable occasion to reflect on how they might build their own careers in the future. It encouraged them to reconsider what they should be mindful of as they take the next steps in their academic and professional journeys.
